are being said to be “the best of the best” and are just getting better – if after the Pro V1x at the time of writing this, that is even possible. I guess the proof in the pudding is that most of the Pros are using them and their performances are ‘on par’ or better of ‘course’ – pardon the pun!

A golf ball maybe a small thing in the world of golfing but the impact that liitle ball can have on your game can be enormous. Titleist previously bought out the Pro V1 and then extended that by adding a little x to it. So what does that little x do that the pro v1 doesn’t.

Well a good place to start to see what the differences are, would be with the construction of the ball.  One of the changes is the fact that the Pro V1x has a dual core, this is a high compression core which helps to control spin and enhances the speed of the ball even more than it did with the Pro V1. This spin control and enhanced speed is also helped by the ionomeric casing layer within the ball.

have a high-performance cover made from urethan elastomer which helps to give the ball its unique design. This exterior is tiled with less dimples than the Titleist Pro V1. The new dimple design for these titleist golf balls has been increased to seven different dimple sizes instead of five.  This design gives the ball a more penetrating flight which gives the ball more resistance to the wind.

The Titleist Pro V1x Golf Balls exterior cover has excellent durability and is abrasion-resistant but still provides that soft feel for the Titleists “Drop and Stop” greenside control and performance – which Titleist have trademarked.

The idea of the changes in the Pro V1x compared to the Pro V1 is that the ball is ‘tweaked’ to best suit golfers with a certain character of swing – trying them out is probably the best way to guage that.

 

Once again Titleist has kept the A.I.M which is the alignment integrated marking sidestamp on the Pro V1x balls which allows you to align your shot.

The thing about the balls is that they would be one of the highest priced on the market, but it goes without saying that you get what you pay for.

The average Joe Bloggs that is just out for a weekend putt probably wouldn’t be using these balls, the woods and the trees, the pond or lake would probably see more of these balls than the green with your weekend ‘putterer’.

at the price they are, are meant for the more serious golfer – someone who has been around for a while and moving to ‘the next level’, someone with a good ‘feel’ for the balls they are using. With that in mind some of the Pros have been hitting their drives 20 yards longer than normal with the Pro V1x’s so if you are serious about your golf, these balls sound like they will give you that ‘I am serious about my golf’ look!

Realistically from searching around, I would say that the price would be the only negative that I have come across regarding the Titleist Pro V1.  Like I have said above, if you feel like your game has reached a point where you are not going to ‘lose your balls’, then these could be the right choice for you!  It’s just like anything in any sport or activity you will only get back what you put in, and if a few extra dollars is all it takes to reduce that score then maybe it’s time to make a ball change.  And actually from what I have seen, on performance, reviewers have given the ball a 5 out of 5, speaks for itself really doesn’t it.

Titleist says “The Pro V1x is the distance and performance solution for Pro V1 players who require less spin into the green, as well as for golfers currently playing competitive high-performance golf balls with low spin and firmer feel”. Well if that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does!
